Printer Information

Qdex-tech are a distributor for a wide range of thermal label printers. These printers have been specifically designed for label printing and tend to be of the 'thermal transfer' or 'direct thermal' variety. Most of the thermal transfer printers also allow direct thermal printing.

Direct thermal printing: uses heat-sensitive papers to produce text, barcodes and images which will generally last about six months before beginning to fade.

Thermal transfer printing: uses heat-sensitive ink ribbons to produce a permanent image on paper and synthetic labels.

These printers can be connected to a single PC or network and are ideal for use in factories, warehouses, offices, retail outlets and healthcare sites. They generally fall into one of three categories dependent on the size and volume of labels you anticipate using.

Desktop printers for low volume label printing often in an office, retail or light industrial environment.
Medium range label printers which are larger, faster and sometimes metal-cased as they tend to be used in the harsher environments of factories and warehouses.
High volume/Industrial type label printers for larger volumes of labels at higher print speeds. They also allow a much wider label to be used.

All our thermal printers come with a standard return to base warranty when new. However, we can offer a variety of 'on site' and 'return to base' warranties throughout the life of a printer. 'On site' is generally offered with either a four or eight hour response time.

All these printers are fairly easy to install and operate, however, as well as telephone backup we can provide 'on site' installation together with some training if required. The cost of an 'on site' installation would need to be quoted in each case.

Basic label design software comes as standard with most models but we also offer several software packages when more advanced labelling applications are required.
